The New York Cannabis Retail Association (NYCRA) has an interest in all proposed legislation and policy that has the potential to impact the lives of our members in the cannabis industry. As our organization expands we will continue to grow our legislative interests to make sure the cannabis industry is more equitable for those who participate in this market. When appropriate, we issue memorandums in support of or opposition to certain bills.

Our board of directors and the regulation and policy staff make frequent visits to the state Capitol and the offices of New York congressional members to discuss pending bills with elected officials. We maintain consistent communication between our legislative team and the legislative representatives called “Lobby Days”. Our legislative agenda is to ensure that the members and other constituents in our industry have a clear voice in albany. Being clear that we represent the retailers in the cannabis industry but making sure there is fair and equal opportunities for all invested stakeholders to be aligned to maintain one voice.
