David Nicponski

David Nicponski is a software engineer, entrepreneur, and mathematician. He has had a lifelong interest in industry-disrupting startups.

David has closely followed legalization efforts in each state since California’s success in 1996. With NY’s cannabis legalization, he realized he could build another startup from the ground up and help the community to grow economically.  With his wife and partner Pamela, they opened Freshly Baked NYC dispensary in Bronx NY in 2024.

Upon entering the nascent NY industry, David was shocked at the amount of misinformation and confusion that was spreading like wildfire and became determined to address this and bring some clarity to the new licensees.  Upon finding and joining NYCRA, David realized that this organization was well-poised to achieve exactly that goal.

David joined the NYCRA board in 2024.

Britni Tantalo co-founded Flower City Hydroponics in Fairport, NY, which specializes in supplying equipment for indoor and outdoor cannabis cultivation. She also co-founded MetaVega Corporation, a company that manufactures, wholesales, and distributes indoor growing equipment and cannabis extraction products to hydroponic retail stores and smoke shops across the United States. As a minority woman in New York State seeking a CAURD retail dispensary license through Flower City Dispensary, Britni champions sustainable and equitable industry practices.

Additionally, she is the co-founder and President of the New York CAURD Coalition, which strives to offer educational opportunities and resource access for a fair cannabis industry. Britni, who holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MBA in accounting from St. John Fisher College, balances her professional ambitions with her life as a wife and mother of two, all while nurturing her passion for the cannabis sector.
